Nostalgia.

Original post: June 6,2005

As I was doing banking for the store one day, I noticed that they had some new paintings hanging behind the counter. Most of the old ones had flowers and puppies and the like, but these depicted children playing little league baseball. How adorable. Wonder where they got those? I continued to admire them as the money was counted, and I noticed that the one in the middle had a fairly disturbing scene in it.

"Excuse me, but where did you get those paintings of the kids playing baseball?"
The teller turns around and looks. "Oh, some lady brought them in."
"Some lady? You even know who it was?"
"Nope. She just came in, put 'em up, and went about her merry way."
"Well, that one in the middle's kinda dirty."
"What?"
"Yeah, look. The one kid's bent over at first base, and the first baseman's standing right behind him like that..."
"Oh my God. That's so funny."

So, now, whenever I go in there, whoever my teller is mentions the painting.

"Dude, I can't look at that painting anymore without laughing."

"I wanna meet the person who did that."

"I took my kids out of little league because of you and that picture."

And then, I found five dollars.
