I can't think of a title.

Original post: March 21, 2006

I knew it was going to be a bad day when I couldn't even answer the phone at work properly. Under normal circumstances, we answer the phone like this:

"Good Morning. Farmers and Mechanics Bank. This is Ian speaking. May I help you?"

And this is how I answered it:

(three seconds of dead silence)
"Uh, Good morning thanks for calling Farmers and Mechanics how can I help you this is Ian."
"Hi, this is Crystal. Is Katherine there?"
"Heh heh... Yeah, hold on a second."

At this point, I was glad that it was someone I knew. I was also happy that I would not have to speak to this person anymore. I'm not a fan of awkward. Katherine later mentioned that Crystal suggested I go back to bed for a few hours. I should've taken her advice.

Speaking of awkward, I saw Susan in the bank again today. She was the redhead I was talking about a few posts back. Anyway, I'm sure she didn't recognize me, so I wasn't sure if I should speak to her. If she was my customer, I probably would've mentioned it as calmly as possible. Something like, "I know you think I'm creepy, but I'd like to talk to you.... in.... a reasonable..... I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABY!!!!" After all that, Kate came in and I told her about it. She called me a hopeless romantic loser.

She's got a point.

I must have a thing for redheads. I guess some of you already knew that. I found myself talking (yes, talking!) to this other redhead girl that came in today. She owns her own business. How cool is that? She seemed nice, and all. She had to take some forms, then bring them back when she'd filled them out. I missed her when she came back. Oh, well. She knows I exist.

And knowing is half the battle!
Go Joe!
